Fenix TK35UE

FENIX TK35 Ultimate Edition 2018 version (TK35UE) 3200 Lumen CREE XHP 70 LED Tactical Flashlight with 4 X EdisonBright CR123A Lithium batteries, Holster & Lanyard bundle

The Fenix TK35UE is the new and improved version of the Fenix TK35. The updated Fenix TK35UE now offers more lumens and a longer beam distance with a new CREE XHP 50 LED. With the new LED the TK35UE can now emit a maximum of 2,000 lumens using two 18650 batteries or four CR123A batteries. The Fenix TK35UE features an orange peel reflector rather than a smooth reflector. The orange peel reflector produces a 75-degree wide beam angle to provide you with maximum mid-range coverage.

The Fenix TK35UE offers five brightness levels, plus Strobe and SOS mode. To prevent the light from dimming as the battery ages Fenix uses a digitally regulated output that keeps the brightness levels constant. With the intelligent memory circuit, the Fenix TK35UE will recall the last setting used when powered on.

Pros:

  • Orange Peel Reflector
  • Momentary-on function
  • Dual tail switches

Cons:

  • Awkward grip
  • On the heavy side

Specs:

  • Dimensions: 6.3 inches long with a 2.0-inch diameter
  • Weight: 7.65 oz without batteries
  • Lowest Setting: 20 lumens for 160 hours
  • Highest Setting: 2000 lumens for 1 hour and 15 minutes

Fenix TK35UE Features & Benefits

User Interface

Dual button tail switches provide complete control over the Fenix TK35UE. The bigger switch powers the light on and off. The smaller switch switches between the various output modes. Lightly tapping the bigger switches provides access to the momentary on feature. To turn the light on or off you will need to fully press the bigger switch. Clicking the smaller switch while the light is powered in allows you to cycle through the five brightness levels. To enter Strobe mode you need to press and hold the smaller switch for one second with the light turned on. To enter SOS mode the smaller switch will need to be held for three seconds with the light powered on.

Low-Voltage Warning

Fenix-TK35UE-Bundle

The Fenix TK35UE can run on either two 18650 batteries or four CR123A batteries, but low voltage warning only works with the 18650s. The low voltage warning will automatically downshift the light to a lower brightness level once the voltage reaches a preset point. If you are using the light in Low mode and the battery drops to the preset point, the light will blink three times every five minutes. The Fenix TK35UE will not turn off until the batteries are completely dead.

Overheat Protection

When working in Turbo or High modes the Fenix TK35UE generates a fair amount of heat. Users even report the lens of the light becomes hot to the touch. Generating too much heat can internally damage the light without overheat protection. The Fenix TK35Ue can operate in Turbo mode for five minutes and on High mode for 30 minutes. Once those times are up, the light will automatically step down to lower output modes to prevent the light from overheating.

Social Proof

If you are in the market for an EDC style that provides tactical abilities you need to take a closer look at the Fenix TK35UE. This new and improved light by Fenix is not called the “Ultimate Edition” for nothing. After spending several hours reading through reviews online, I have discovered my good opinion is shared by other flashlight enthusiasts. Several reputable sites offer positive reviews of the Fenix TK35UE

While the overall opinion of the Fenix TK35UE is good that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have its flaws. One thing that can be improved with the light is its grip. Many people take note that the light isn’t as grippy as others, holding and manipulating the light with one hand is rather awkward. The grip has been improved from the original Fenix TK35, but can still use some work.
