OEM Private Label Flashlight Review (YIFENG XML T6)

Have you been looking for a decent flashlight to keep around the house? Are you in need of something that gets the job done without you having to spend a fortune? If you need a decent light to keep around the house for a super affordable price, you need to check out the YIFENG XML T6.

Before You Buy

Before you run out and purchase any kind of flashlight you need to look at what you are getting. With how many different choices there are, you really can’t just grab one off the shelf and hope it works. When choosing a flashlight one of the main factors people consider is price, but that should never be the deciding factor. In all honesty, when it comes to flashlights you really do get what you pay for. The cheaper lights often have a hard time holding up under the same conditions as your more expensive lights. The reason for this is the quality of the build. Cheaper lights often use cheaper materials to offer that lower price. Price is something that you need to consider, but it shouldn’t be the main factor.

YIFENG XML T6 Features & Benefits

User Interface

One of the greatest things about this average light is how easy it is to use. Using the light is done via a soft-touch button located on the tail end of the light. Fully pressing the button will turn the light on or off. Lightly pressing the button, so about halfway down, will allow you to swap between the different brightness modes. Strobe and SOS modes are also accessed through the soft-touch button.

Even with different brightness levels sometimes you just need the ability to adjust the focus of the light. Being able to adjust the focus allows the light to be used in a variety of situations rather than just for up close or distance. When you opt to zoom in you are offered an intense spotlight that is ideal for long range sight. The beam can reach up to 600 feet. Zooming out provides users with a floodlight style light that works best for large areas that need to be illuminated.

Front Strike Bezel

To be a true tactical light the YIFENG XML T6 was designed to be used in emergency situations. The makers of the light included both SOS and Strobe mode for a variety of emergencies. The makers of the light also included a front strike bezel that can be used as an emergency self-defense device. The front strike bezel and aluminum body of the light are durable enough that it can withstand a variety of impacts without suffering irreparable damage.

Social Proof

I have spent several hours reading through the reviews of the YIFENG XML T6. What I have found about this OEM private label light is that it is a decent light, but it is not the greatest light. The YIFENG XML T6 offers some really amazing features, such as the adjustable focus, front strike bezel, and an easy to use interface, but sometimes those features just aren’t enough to make the light great. Aside from the most talked about features the best thing about this light is it is a decent light for the price you are paying.

One of the biggest downfalls to this light when reading the reviews is the batteries. The light can use either a single 18650 or 3 AAA, but the light doesn’t include either battery with your purchase. The 18650 battery provides brighter lumens than the 3 AAA batteries. The other downfall to the batteries is neither power source lasts very long inside the light; both styles of batteries drain quickly so you only have the highest lumens for a short amount of time. Another issue with the light is no overheating protection. This means when using the light on the highest setting it can grow hot to the touch very quickly. The light claims to have an IPX-6 rating, but that is not a factor I would want to test as the light uses ordinary rubber seals rather than silicone.

OEM Private Label Flashlight Review (YIFENG XML T6) Final Thoughts

In all honesty, the YIFENG XML T6 is not the best light on the market nor is it the brightest light around. We have reviewed several lights that are far more superior, but what we have noticed about this one is it is a decent light for the price you pay. The YIFENG XML T6 might not be the tactical light you dream of, but it will work when you need it. Please take a look at our flashlight reviews or our flashlight buyers guides for all your flashlight needs.
